Season 2 of LEGO Masters NZ featured an episode where the teams had to build characters from well known Kiwi picture books, Nee Naw being one of them!
It was down to Andrew and Harry both mechanical engineers from Auckland to accomplish this. You can watch the actual episode to see how got on.
And in a big surprise Andrew and Harry have designed a simplified version of their Lego build with step by step instructions for you to build Nee Naw.

MAKING OF NEE NAW THE LITTLE FIRE ENGINE
I’ve put together some of the original rough layouts of the first Nee Naw book which you can compare with the finish artwork. Also included, some of the early character designs of Nee Naw, the big fire trucks, the fire crew and Granny. One thing I had forgot is that Nee Naw wasn’t originally a boy fire truck but a girl fire truck. As if you look at the early character designs I have the lights on the top make up a bow shape.
